Video: Fabricating A Custom Incisal Guide Table

By Lee Ann Brady on 08.09.12Category: Occlusion/TMD, Restorative Dentistry, Videos

In this week’s blog that looked at a restricted envelope of function I mentioned utilizing a custom incisal guide table. In this video I demonstrate fabrication of a custom incisal guide table. The purpose is to capture the patient’s occlusal pathways in right, left and protrusive. In this way we can now change vertical dimension, alter the tooth position in a wax-up. complete an ortho set-up and be assured that we have a reference to the original occlusion. With this reference we may chose to shallow the guidance or create more freedom for the patient. The process begins with a set of mounted models. You will need a facebow record, bite registration in centric relation or intercuspal position and a protrusive record, to set condylar inclination.

    Hi Lee
Just tried the guide table and love it! Much easier and more predictable than using Duralay.
I used Triad and sandblasted the table ( Denar) . It worked perfectly and much cheaper than composite.
