Understanding Joint Sounds

By Lee Ann Brady on 09.30.14Category: Occlusion/TMD, Videos

Joint Palpation to detect palpable sounds

Joint Noises are evidence of a change in the relationship between the disc and the head of the condyle int he Temporomandibular joint. Disc position is an important diagnostic finding that assesses joint stability, and ultimately the stability of the occlusion. In this video I talk through and demonstrate both the sounds we feel and hear on an exam, what they tell us about disc position and how this information relates to stability and occlusal risk.

This is total money. Please come to midwestern university and teach this to the students. They would love this!

Just completed Clinical Mastery’s UO2 w/ John Nosti and Mike Smith today. They recommended we check out your videos. This is great. Will help me explain it to my associate and staff in a straightforward way! Thanks so much. Look forward to taking a course with you someday soon!
