Thank You Bartley for continuing the conversation about effectively using Facebook to market our dental offices.
As we have talked about in past blogs, Facebook is a place to share information. You have heard the quote, “A picture is worth 1,000 words”. Today we are taking that principle and applying it to Facebook. We will cover four album ideas for your dental practice. Albums are groups of photos on Facebook. You can create different albums for different events. Otherwise, if you just have one picture you can post it directly to your wall. Here are four ideas for albums:
1. Dental office – Take pictures of your office. If you have a beautiful office show the outside. Otherwise, show the front desk, operatory, and so forth. Let people see what your space looks like before they get there. That way it is not an intimidating new environment when a new patient comes for their first appointment.
2. Dental staff – Get a group shot as well as individual pictures of the staff. When posting pictures of the staff add names (first and last if given written permission). Not everyone likes their full name posted so first name may be best. Give a short blurb about each person under their picture so people know who they are and what their role is in the practice: Example: Joan Smith, hygienist. Joan has been working at the dental office for three years. When she is not working she enjoys volunteering and spending time with her family.
3. Team outings – People want to know what you do outside of the office. If your team has a holiday party snap a few pictures and post them. Halloween costumes are great to take pictures of as well. Any time your team has a get together try to get a picture or two and post them to Facebook. People will then be able to see different sides of your staff. Create individual albums for this: Examples include: Holiday Party 2011 or Halloween at the office.
4. Events – When you go to a trade show, continuing education course or meetings, take pictures. Example: Chicago Mid-Winter Meeting: Take pictures of the trade show floor, your favorite vendor booth, with other vendors, and with friends.
All of these suggestions are meant to show your patients more about your dental practice and keep them engaged. Yodel’s next blog will cover incorporating videos for Facebook via a YouTube account.
