I normally only post Monday through Friday, but didn’t want to miss the opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I will spend the holiday weekend putting away my Christmas decorations until next year and reflecting on 2011. It was a year of big changes for me, the right changes and I am exactly where I had hoped to be as the year ends. I started the year as the Clinical Director of Spear Education and I am ending it as the CEO of my own education company and a practicing dentist again. The blog has been an incredible creative outlet. The reward of hearing when something makes a difference in someone’s practice, for them or their patients always bring a smile to my face. I am back in full swing traveling and teaching, and 2012 will see the launch of my own courses beginning with the first online seminar on Occlusal Diagnosis.
One of my goals this year was to put my family back in first place. I have seen lacrosse practices and games, attended band concerts and been home on the weekends just to lie on the couch and watch TV or surf the internet side by side. One thing I know about 2012 is this time at home will continue. 2012 will bring the high school graduation of my oldest daughter and I am sure the spring will be full of events, celebrations and planning for her departure to college next fall. In June my youngest turns thirteen, so no more kids, just a house full of teenagers!!!! Every phase has been the best one yet and I expect this will continue as we enter this next chapter as a family.
The New Year will be welcomed in what has become a tradition over the last eight years. We will host the Ratcliff’s and The DeWoods at our house for a fabulous meal and to wish the old year goodbye and welcome the new year. My mom and dad will be with us, and this year for the first time Steve’s Son and his family. Kelly will be making a traditional Mexican dinner and Jane will be bringing her world-famous cookies, the name of which is not suitable for print, so you’ll have to ask Steve.
I’m toasting all of you, may 2012 be full of happiness, success and whatever you dream about!!
Lee Ann,
I admire you so much for your hard work and dedication to the profession.
We’ve got a lot of occlusal analysis going on in Northern California! I’m looking forward to hearing about what you have to say!
Keep up the good work!
