Pressed or Milled Ceramic Instructions

Pressed or Milled Ceramic Instructions

Accomplishing exquisite anterior restorative results is a combination of preparation, technique and materials selection. This course will present an approach to plan margin placement and tooth reduction to accomplish the planned tooth position, contour and color of the new restoration as well as assuring functional success. It is challenging to select from one of the many choices of esthetic restorative materials that are available. We will discuss the esthetic and functional parameters of each material to facilitate appropriate material selection. Creating exquisite esthetic results that last using bonded porcelain in the posterior dentition can be a challenge. We will look at the unique qualities of posterior tooth preparation that allow an exquisite result that lasts, specifically looking at the requirements for milled restorations. A current review of the materials available for posterior bonded porcelain will take into account esthetics and strength considerations. An efficient and effective process for streamlining tooth preparation will be presented.
